Mae Cook founded this company back in 1924. That was when north Figueroa St. was known as Pasadena Avenue, and people rode the street cars. Mae did not own a car. For the first eight years in business she rode with her clients.

Mae is remembered for her generosity in giving when needed--- ALL KINDS OF ADVICE! Her office was next to the famous Chile Ville.

ERNIE HARNSBERGER

Then in 1950 Mae Cook’s son, Ernie HARNSBERGER came into the real estate business. It wasn’t long before he had salespeople working with him. They all worked 7 days a week giving the “BEST OF SERVICE” to their clients. In the same way Mae Cook had for all those years before. The office at that time was two very small rooms on York Bl.

New Office

6330 N. Figueroa Street became the new home of Cook Real Estate in the spring of 1961. A dream became a reality for Ernie had built a spacious new modern office building. At that time it represented nearly “40 years” of service to the community!

Time to Franchise

In the early 1970’s we became a Red Carpet franchise office and dropped the cook name. There was a growing need for more and broader services to the buyers and sellers, as well as Reputable Identity to the new comers in the community. Ernie HARNSBERGER went on to become the President of the prestigious Los Angeles

Board of Realtors. He served the Northeast area for 33 years as one of the most outstanding examples of a REAL ESTATE BROKER . . . .

80 years strong

Today, the HARNSBERGER family consists of 4 generations. In continuing a family tradition, we continue to grow and offer honest and reliable service.
